Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) today rebutted the statement of Congress leader Manpreet Singh Badal who has issued 'character certificate' of sorts to PPCC president Capt Amarinder Singh who otherwise is a "discredited leader and disloyal husband".AAP Punjab convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich said that Capt Amarinder Singh was not a holy cow and AAP need not to explain his credentials in the public. He reminded Manpreet Badal that Congress party had lost last two assembly elections in 2007 and 2012 under the command of Capt Amarinder Singh and he is going to make a hat-trick of defeats.Waraich said that AAP had never questioned services rendered by Capt Amarinder Singh for the Indian army but he shall not use his defence service to cover up his follies in public life.If Capt Amarinder Singh had resigned from Congress in 1984 in protest against Operation Blue Star then what was the compulsion to return to the same party and how he can defend the accused Congress leaders like Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar against whom police had registered cases of instigating mob to kill Sikhs in Delhi.

AAP convener also reminded Manpreet Badal that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had sacrificed his post of Income Tax Commissioner for the sake of nation and he has put his life at risk to protect the democracy. He is single handedly fighting against corrupt system of which Capt Amarinder Singh was always a part and is still in collusion with communal alliance of SAD and BJP. Kejriwal's popularity among common people is biggest certificate of his credibility.Waraich countered Manpreet Badal on the stand taken by Capt Amarinder Singh on SYL issue. He said that Capt Amarinder Singh was physically present at Kapuri village when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi laid the foundation stone of the controversial canal in 1982. Reacting to Manpreet Singh's claim that Capt Amarinder Singh always available to people, Waraich said that former CM ruled Punjab for five years with his infamous coterie. He said that he himself was never accessible to public and lived a luxurious life whether in power or in opposition."Manpreet Badal shall recall that Capt Amarinder Singh became CM in 2002 and by 2003, former PPCC president Rajinder Kaur Bhattal had publicly pledged to remove Singh from his position as Chief Minister, and was backed by dozens of dissident MLAs from the Congress party. Their main grouse was inaccessibility of Capt Amarinder Singh who had almost shun public life after taking oath of CM", Waraich stated.Waraich said that credentials of Manpreet Badal too are not above board. He had colluded with Congress led UPA government at center and worked against interests of his parent party which led to his expulsion. "Character of such leaders would not change overnight", Waraich added.
