Jammu 30-Dec-2016

Expressing strong resentment over illogical demonetisation which has paralysed the Nation’s wealth, scores of students under the banner of National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) carrying placards and banners assembled in front of Jammu University main gate and raised the slogan against the BJP Government and later blocked the road for an hour.Leading the protest, Neeraj Kundan J&K State President NSUI while addressing the gathering said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to meet his own 50-day deadline to restore order to the country’s economy and ease the hardship faced by ordinary citizens following the chaos of his sudden currency ban. Now people want to know, what is the gain after suffering so much pain?, still the situation is grim and there is no hope of an early revival.Kundan added that AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi has sought answer to the five questions, on behalf of the entire countrymen over the issue of demonetization.  One, the extent of black money received in the banks, as entire money has been deposited in the banks by the countrymen. Second, the extent of economic losses in the country and the number of people who lost jobs due to demonetization as millions of people have lost jobs during this period.

Thirdly, the number of persons who lost lives due to demonetization and why no compensation has been given to such families, while demanding adequate compensation to such families for sustenance. Fourthly, the pre-pare redness and measures taken before taking this move and why the RBI and other economic experts were not consulted before this decision. Fifthly, party has sought that the Govt. discloses the names of such individuals and organizations who have deposited more than Rs.25 Lakhs during the period of three months preceding the demonetization move.Kundan reminded the public about Modi’s promise which states “I have asked for just 50 days,” Modi said in his emotional speech. “If after December 30, there are shortcomings in my work or there are mistakes or bad intentions found in my work, I will be prepared for any punishment at any crossroad of the county that you decide for me.” “People were even unable to withdraw their legitimate money from the banks. It is the poor, farmers, laborers, middle class and small shopkeepers who are being sacrificed.” Kundan added.Neeraj Kundan was accompanied by prominent NSUI leaders Amjad Butt, Avijot Singh ,Ajay Kumar, Puneet Singh, Sunny Parihar, Mehran Anjum, Ramesh , Vishal Kotwal and others.
