No change in Congress reservation policy : Captain Amarinder Singh

Dismissing media speculation to the contrary, Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh has made it clear that there is no change in the party policy on the reservation issue.Asked by mediapersons for a clarification on the issue in the light of some social media posts citing a party leader as calling for scrapping of the reservation system, Captain Amarinder said there was no ambiguity about the Congress stand on the issue.Captain Amarinder unequivocally asserted that the Congress policy on reservation stood as it was, and there was no question of any change with respect to the same, notwithstanding the needless controversy being triggered by vested forces with an eye on the assembly elections in the state.The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president said the unwarranted controversy had apparently been sparked by some media reports misquoting National Youth Congress President Raja Warring on the issue.Pointing out that all Congress leaders and members were aligned to the party policy on the matter of reservation, Captain Amarinder said there was no question of any deviation from the same by any individual and Warring had clearly been misquoted on the subject.
