Virbhadra Singh lays foundation stone of auditorium of HIPA

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today laid the foundation stone of auditorium building of Himachal Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), near Shimla.He also laid foundation stone of new office block of the institute which would be constructed at san estimated cost of rupees four crore.The Chief Minister said this building will be a marvelous blend of modernity and heritage and would  add to the infrastructure physical profile of Shimla city in general as well as the Institute in particular. He directed the departments concerned to carry out the construction work in three shifts so that these buildings could be completed in a time bound manner.The five storey auditorium building will cater for 30 residential rooms for trainees and faculty along-with an auditorium with sitting capacity of 550 people. The auditorium will be the first of its kind in the capital equipped with all modern state of art technologies and will be used for holding high end National / International conference / summits /seminars. The proposed building will be completely barrier free having provisions of vertical connectivity through lift, ramp and stair case.Vice Chairman, HP Tourism Development Corporation Shri Harish Janartha, Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Shri Onkar Sharma, Director, HIPA Smt. Madhubala Sharma and other senior officers of the state government were present on the occasion.
