Power Crisis:Srinagar residents lockdown PDD office

Locals from Maisuma and its adjacent area’s Friday took to streets against Power Development Department (PDD) and locked down its main office located at Basant Bagh Srinagar.Eyewitnesses told CNS that a large number of people from Basant Bagh, Manir Bagh, Nai Sark and Maisuma assembled outside PDD office and locked it down to protest against the department’s failure to supply them electricity. The protesters said that they receive electricity for only 3 hours despite the fact they pay their fatty monthly bills in time.PDD department has failed to provide us adequate electricity from past more than four weeks. We are not getting sufficient electricity,” protesters said and appealed Chief Engineer PDD to look into the matter. (CNS)
