‘Monarchs’ Living In Palaces Hardly Bothers About The General Public- CM Quips On Captain

Quipping on the lavish lifestyle of state Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the ‘Monarchs’ living in palaces hardly bother about the general public and were totally unaware about the woes of common man in the state.Addressing the gathering during Sangat Darshan program in Kapurthala assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that Captain has scant knowledge about the rural life as he loves to live in palaces and enjoy the fruits of power. On the contrary, Mr. Badal said that he has spent his entire life amongst the people working for their well being due to which he was well verse with every problem faced by a common villager. He said that it was a fact that Captain was having a monarchial mindset, due to why he desists from meeting the common masses.The Chief Minister reiterated that if voted to power both the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would discontinue the several pro-people schemes and subsidies being currently given to people. He said that the SAD-BJP alliance government has taken a number of pro-people initiatives like Atta-Dal, Pension, Shagun, Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme, Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Beema Yojna and others to facilitate the people. Mr. Badal said that besides these the state government was giving free power to farmers and weaker sections of society worth several thousand crore rupees annually.

However, the Chief Minister said that both Congress and AAP have a proven track record of being anti - poor and anti - Punjabis adding that God forbid if, in any case, these parties were voted to power they would discontinue all these schemes thus leaving hapless beneficiaries in lurch. Citing the examples, he said that during his stint as Chief Minister of state Captain Amarinder Singh had discontinued free power to people and welfare schemes were a distant dream during his regime. Likewise, Mr. Badal said that AAP government in Delhi led by Mr. Arvind Kejriwal has done nothing tangible on the welfare front.Terming that the ensuing state assembly polls would be a fight between pro and anti Punjab forces, the Chief Minister said that the upcoming polls would be decisive for state as it would make or mar the future of state. He said that the fight during upcoming poll was between custodian of Punjab and Punjabis, the SAD and the enemies of state like AAP and Congress. Mr. Badal urged the people to exercise their franchise with utmost caution as the future of their younger generations was totally dependent on their verdict.

Interacting with the media persons, the Chief Minister said that entry of 'disarrayed and opportunist' person like former BJP MP Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu would hardly have any impact on state polity. Mr. Badal said that these turncoats frequently shift their allegiance for the lust of power and have no stand on any issue adding that such people were bound to go in political oblivion. He said that people of the state have strong disliking for opportunists and defectors, who backstab their mother party for sake of personal interests.Hailing the historic win of SAD-BJP alliance in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation Polls, the Chief Minister said that this result was a pointer towards back-to-back victory of the alliance for the third consecutive term in the state. Mr. Badal said that this massive mandate in favor of pro-people policies and solid performance of BJP at Centre under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has ever silenced the opposition for unleashing malicious propaganda to defame the government for their narrow vested interests. He said the alliance would repeat the same in state during upcoming assembly polls. 

Welcoming the decision of the NDA government to double to Rajpura-Chandigarh Railway track, the Chief Minister said that the BJP led Union government has showered special affection towards the state by giving several key projects to it. He said that the Union government has given several key projects to the state, which would be instrumental in putting the state further on high growth trajectory. Mr. Badal hailed the NDA government for allocating prestigious projects like All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and Post Graduate Horticulture Research and Educational Institute and other major projects.On another query, the Chief Minister said that holding the elections in a single day or in phases was totally a prerogative of the Election Commission of India, which was fully competent and independent to take such decisions.Prominent amongst other present on the occasion, included Akali leader Mr. Paramjit Singh Pamma, Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Gurloveleen Singh Sidhu and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Rajinder Singh.
