Describing Congress as a ‘leadership bankrupt’ party, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that Congress was poaching the fugitives of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in dismay to form the government in the state.Addressing the gathering during Sangat Darshan program in Jalandhar Cantt assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that those leaders who ditch their mother party for the sake of tickets or plum posts could never succeed in life. He said that such leader were ‘pervert sons’ of their parent party, which has nurtured them since long. Mr. Badal said that unfortunately the Congress was today banking on such leaders to overcome its leadership crisis.Exhorting the people to don’t support such leaders, the Chief Minister said that these turncoats and fugitives take the verdict of people for granted and frequently change their parties just for the sake of enjoying fruits of power. Mr. Badal said that the time has come when people must show a door to such political leaders who have neither had any loyalty towards their party nor with the people. “These people who have deceived their mother party for lusts of power are not at all reliable and must be shown a door” he added. 

The Chief Minister called upon the people to support the SAD-BJP alliance in the ensuing polls so as to further boost the ongoing development in the state. Mr. Badal said that the state government in complete synergy with the NDA government at Centre had heralded an era of unprecedented development in the state, which could continue only if the alliance was voted back to power. He said that the state has witnessed unprecedented development in all the sectors during the last one decade of alliance rule whereas the Congress party couldn’t even list a single achievement of its during their regime.The Chief Minister said that besides providing quality education and healthcare facilities to the people the alliance government has also focused on the overall welfare of almost every strata of the society. Mr. Badal said that a helping and has been extended to the farmers by providing them free power worth Rs 5000 crore annually. He said that the alliance was the true sympathizer of the people of the state whereas the Congress and AAP was the bunch of opportunists and anti-Punjab people. 

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that in order to facilitate the people the state government would offer compensation to the Indian Army in lieu of removing Octroi from two cantonments of Jalandhar Cantt and Ferozepur. He also said that keeping in view larger public interests the state government would set Jamsher Solid Waste Management plant at some alternate place. Mr. Badal also assured the people to resolve the matter pertaining to periphery roads around these cantonments.Later on interacting with the media persons, the Chief Minister said that the announcement of Captain Amarinder Singh to review decisions of the state government during last three months reflected their anti-people mindset. He said that the alliance government has taken a slew of pro-people initiatives which has probably irked the state Congress leadership due to which they were issuing such statements. Mr. Badal said that people were already aware that Congress would take back pro-people initiatives life free power to farmers, regularization of employees and others, due to which they would never give a verdict in favour of this party.

Strongly supporting the demonetization move of the BJP led NDA government; the Chief Minister said that this decision has been taken in the larger interest of the country adding that after initial hiccups this decision would prove as a boon for the countrymen. He said that the ongoing situation would normalize within a fortnight. Mr. Badal said that he would personally urge the Union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley to enhance the flow of cash in the banks for facilitating the people.The Chief Minister was accompanied by former MLA Mr. Sarabjeet Singh Makkar, Chairman Jalandhar Improvement Trust Mr. Paramjeet Singh Raipur, Joint Special Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Kumar Amit, Commissioner Police Mr. Arpit Shukla and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kamal Kishor Yadav.
