Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today said the education sector in the country is undergoing positive transformation and innovative approach to learning will go a long way in brushing up the intellectual capabilities of the students.The Deputy CM was speaking at 18th annual day function of K C Public International School held here today.MLA Gool Arnas Mumtaz Khan, former Advisor to Governor, Parvez Dewan, Chairman KC Educational Society, Raju Choudhary, intellectuals, academicians and students were present on the occasion.“The educational sector in the country is undergoing rapid transformation with technological innovations due to the initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is keen on ensuring that the students get quality educational facilities at par with developed and advanced countries of the world. We have to strengthen these initiatives by contributing our bit in this noble endeavor,” he said and maintained that India would soon be emerging as one of the global leaders in the educational sector.

Referring to the steps being taken up to augment the educational sector in the State, the Deputy Chief Minister said that setting up of IIM, IIT and IIMC in Jammu would ensure that this region comes up as a laeding hub on the educational map of the county. He said the students in large numbers would be coming to the State to pursue the higher and technical education.“The steps are already underway to ensure fast–paced completion of these prestigious institutions so that the students of the State get benefited from these,” he added.Complementing the school management for carrying out their academic activities in a professional way, the Deputy Chief Minister said that extracurricular activities and sports are essential for overall personality development of the students. He said such activities should be made an important component of education.Later, Dr Singh gave away certificates and mementos to the students who have excelled in educational and co-curricular activities.A colorful cultural programme was also presented by the students of the school on the occasion.Earlier, the Dy CM went around the school and saw the Art Gallery, the computer block, classrooms and other facilities being provided by the school.
