Asking security agencies and Government not to celebrate the killing of militants, AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has asked Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to persuade New Delhi for a unilateral seize fire against militants, if she really wants peace. Reacting to Arwani encounter Er. Rasheed said that the way people have taken to streets and tried to break the siege should make everybody understand that there is a huge gap between the perception of state and that of common masses in Kashmir over the killing of militants. He said “security agencies and political establishment may have many reasons and compulsions to brand these youth as terrorists but the ground reality has proved time and again that killing militants has not only created new era of hard core militancy but the dream of peace is getting further faraway with every such killing. Terrorists of state are getting heroic support from commoners.New Delhi must understand that nothing has changed except sentiment for right to self-determination getting deeper, with killing of militants. If chief minister Mehbooba Mufti really wants peace and a conducive atmosphere for meaningful dialogue, she must work for a unilateral seize fire and stop all operations against the militants, so that the militant outfits may also agree to respond to any such move”. Er. Rasheed said that those celebrating deaths of militants are more worried about getting perks privileges and promotions from these killings and are less bothered about serving state interests.(GNS)
