Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday criticized Punjab government for forcing the private school managements of state to shut and provide buses to the organizers of Akali Dal rally at Moga on December 8. Accusing Punjab Government and Shiromani Akali Dal of misusing the state machinery for party rally, Aam Aadmi Party state convener, Gurpreet Singh Waraich (Ghuggi) said that SAD has stooped so low that they have started harassing the school children for their convenience. “It is on record that District Education Officers sent order letters to the school managements to shut the schools on rally day and provide school buses to ferry the people to rally venue on the directions of concerned Deputy Commissioners.” said Waraich. He said that it also exposed the lie of Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema that he was not aware of the fact that any order from government was released to shut the schools.

“As per the media reports around 19 schools were ordered to shut in Ludhiana and the same orders ware also sent in other districts of the state too.” said Waraich. “The parents still carry messages in their phones in which school management asked them to drop and pick their children on December 8 as the schools buses were to sent to the rally at Moga” added Waraich.Waraich said that it is such an irony of the state that the government itself is preventing students to study as they need their buses for the use of a particular political party. “The government boasts of opening new schools and improving education system in state but the reality is that they have politicized the most sacred profession as well.” added Waraich.AAP leader said that the HRD Ministry at centre must take note of issue and seek an explanation from the Punjab government and Education Department for forcing school to remain closed without any need. Waraich also demanded that the Punjab and Haryana High Court must take Suo Moto action against Punjab government and state education department for creating hindrance in the working of schools.
