DC Shopian reviews arrangements for Children Special Train

Deputy Commissioner Shopian, G. M. Dar, today convened a meeting to review logistic arrangements and other related issues for running the Children Special Train successfully.The Deputy Commissioner said the train will chug on second and fourth Sunday of every month under the title ‘Wadi Ki Sair’.He directed the officials of Education Department to choose only class 6th to 8th standard students who will be allowed to board the train and for every 25 students one teacher shall accompany them during the journey. He also directed the Assistant Commissioner Revenue to appoint nodal officers from Education Department to maintain close liaison with the Railway authorities. He impressed upon all concerned officials to coordinate with each other to further fine-tune the arrangements for the proposed children special train.The Deputy Commissioner also directed ARTO Shopian to depute 2 buses to facilitate students to reach stations in a hassle-free manner.He also directed the officials of Health department to depute one Doctor with paramedical staff and ambulance. It was said that Police and CRPF will provide elaborate security arrangements.Additional SP Shopian, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Chief Medical officer, Deputy Chief Education Officer, Tehsildar Headquarter were also present in the meeting.Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is scheduled to flag-off this train on December 11.
