The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs,  Hansraj Gangaram Ahir has appealed all citizens to adapt fast to cashless transactions and help fulfill the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for eradication of the menace of black money from our society. Addressing a function on ‘Demonetization’, organized by the Delhi Police here today, Shri Ahir said that cashless transactions will not only bring in transparency in financial transactions but also prevent tax evasion.Underlining that the Prime Minister has asked every citizen to take oath for cashless transactions, Shri Ahir said the demonetisation has thrown us a new challenge, offering us multiple opportunities for digital economy.

Asking the police officers to make good use of their massive outreach among all cross sections of society, Shri Ahir said the police personnel should not only adopt digital payments but also help and facilitate traders, RWAs etc.Allaying concerns that the Government was not prepared for the effects of demonetization, Shri Ahir said crores of Jan Dhan bank accounts were opened during the last more than two years of the present Government. Besides the Government is committed to setting up the supporting digital and communication infrastructure, he added.Shri Ahir said the Government has also been able to deliver cash to all corners of the country.
