DC reviews functioning of revenue department

Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar reviewed the functioning of Revenue department in a meeting held here today.ADC Dr Bharat Bhushan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jitendra Mishra, SDM Hiranagar Sohan Lal, SDM Basohli Dhirendra Sharma, SDM Billawar Rajesh Basotra, Tehsildar HQ, Tehsildars of all tehsils besides other senior officers of Revenue Department were present in the meeting.The DC stressed on timely submission of concise monthly statements/progress reports like attestation of mutations, removal of encroachment on State/ Kahcharai land, disposal of court cases etc by tehsildars.Stressing the need on keeping close check on encroachments in their respective jurisdiction, the DC directed  the revenue officers to strengthen anti-encroachment mechanism to retrieve encroached State land. He also asked the department to set targets for timely eviction of encroachment on common land.The issue for identification of land for construction of 100 MW Solar Power project, land for BEACON, Grid station at Basohli, community hall at Ramkote, border fencing, saran-Hiranagar transmission line and sports stadium were also discussed in the meeting . Deputy Commissioner directed the revenue officials to take necessary action to remove bottlenecks for acquisition of land for these projects.The DC also directed the tehsildars to regularly update record Jamabandies for expediting the digitization process.The DC while discussing various administrative concerns asked the SDMs to conduct regular administrative inspections of tehsil and niabat offices under their jurisdiction.
