Yousuf Bhat chairs Privileges Committee meet
Discusses accommodation issues of legislators

A meeting of the Committee on Privileges of Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat.Legislators, Javaid Hassan Beigh, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Rajeev Sharma and Aijaz Ahmad Mir attended the meeting.Threadbare discussions were held on accommodation and other related facilities being provided to the Legislators as per protocol given to them. Committee also discussed privileges/amenities and facilities being provided to the Legislators, besides other issues related to the accommodation of Government employees.On the occasion the Committee asked the concerned authorities to provide accommodation in Kashmir Haat, New Delhi to the legislators so that they cannot face any inconvenience during their official visit to New Delhi.Financial Commissioner, Estates Department, B B Vyas assured the committee for amendment in Government Order issued in 2009 so that the entitlement of Legislators in getting sufficient accommodation could be fulfilled.The Committee also held discussion on the breach of privilege given by the MLA, Usman Abdul Majid.Among others, Director, Estates Department, G N Itoo, senior concerned officers of Estates Department and Assembly Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
