Amitab Matoo resigns, ‘The decision is personal and apolitical’

Professor Amitabh Matoo on Wednesday resigned as the advisor of the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.Mattoo was named as an advisor to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti with the status of a cabinet minister in April earlier this year.Mattoo also served as advisor to chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, who died on January 7. “The decision to tender my resignation is apolitical and personal and no politics is involved in it,” Matoo told news agency CNS.“Yes, I have resigned and will not continue,” he added.
