Kavinder Gupta launches Deep Drains Remodeling project for Naibasti, Digiana

Seeks cooperation of residents, traders in ensuring quality work

Speaker, Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today launched a maiden deep drains remodeling and renovation project for Naibasti and Digiana for regular maintenance of sanitation levels in the area.Kavinder Gupta while addressing the people said that this project will resolve the problem of frequent flooding of drains and reduce the subsequent damage caused to the public and private infrastructure in the area. He also took an extensive tour of both the locations and took on the spot note of problem areas pointed out by the locals.The Speaker informed the public that this new project will overhaul the existing drainage system and it includes increasing the depth, height, width along with expansion of the narrow sections to facilitate smooth flow of sewerage.Seeking cooperation from the residents and traders in the area, the Speaker asked them to work in tandem with JMC, UEED, PWD and other allied department associated with this necessary project and keep a close eye on the quality of works.

The Speaker said the government is committed to develop efficient drainage systems and raise a healthy sanitation infrastructure in the state and this is a move in achieving that goal. He urged them to support the executing agencies during the required dismantling of their infrastructures necessary for successful execution of works.He further informed the locals that a project for upgradation of roads for Digiana has already been approved, the works for which will begin post successful completion of the drainage development work.All concerned officers from JMC, UEED and PWD including the Joint Commissioner JMC, R.S Jamwal, Executive Engineers, CTO, Assistant Executive Engineers and Health Officer from JMC, UEED and PWD accompanied the speaker during his visit.Later, the Speaker distributed gas connections among the female beneficiaries from BPL families residing in Bhour camp ward no 2. 

Kavinder Gupta urged the females to use the LPG for cooking purpose at their households adding that this will protect their health and their families from ill-effects of traditional cooking methods. He assured that all left out households will soon be brought under the aegis of PMUY.
