DDC reviews winter preparedness plan for smooth vehicular movement on NH

To ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic on NH1A during the ensuing winter season, District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz, today convened a high level meeting with the officers and representatives of construction companies of various National projects operating in the district. 

While reviewing the preparedness of various authorities, the DC directed the concerned to take adequate steps for ensuring smooth passage of traffic by removing snow and proper maintenance of NH1A at all crucial places like Patnitop, Banihal and other such vulnerable points. The representatives of all construction agencies were also directed to submit a 'Winter Preparedness Plan' report at the earliest. Expressing displeasure over non compliance of terms and norms of the contract, Aijaz said that the common masses have been suffering a lot due to lack of proper maintenance of National Highway by the companies. He   directed the Railway construction companies to work towards restoring various water resources affected during the construction of railway projects besides ensuring road connectivity in these areas.The DDC directed the companies to ensure muck-dumping only at the identified dumping yards besides identifying new dumping yards where ever required.Various officers and representatives of the construction companies attended the meeting.
