Naeem Akhtar hails RDD role in developing infrastructure of rural schools

The government is planning to give a qualitative facelift to the Central Basic Higher Secondary School Purani Mandi which has produced many distinguished personalities and has people including the Chief Justice of India TS Thakur as its alumni.This was revealed by Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar during his visit to the school. He was accompanied by Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul Haq.The Minister called for short and long term measures to improve the quality of education in the school besides developing the infrastructure. Under short term measures, the Minister directed for immediate face-lifting of the school and also directed for providing furniture to the school.To improve the learning level of the students in the school, the Minister directed officials to depute dynamic teachers to the school who can inculcate enthusiasm among the students. Minister said the government will deliberate upon various long term measures that can be taken to make the institution as one of the prestigious institute of the state.

Akhtar said the institute has distinction of being the alma-mater of some of the most respected citizens of the country which include the Chief Justice of India.On the occasion Minister for Rural Development, Panchyati Raj, Law and Justice Abdul HAq said the Rural Development Department will help the department of education in improving the infrastructure of the schools in rural areas. He said the department has already taken up works for construction of many school buildings under convergence.Minister said the Education sector is the basic building block of the society and the government is committed to improve the learning environment for the students which include infrastructure development.He said the Rural Development department is also constructing playgrounds for schools under convergence with MGNREGA.Both the ministers later visited Sunjwan Higher Secondary School where the RDD has constructed a playground in convergence scheme with MGNREGA. The ministers inspected the laboratory block   which is being constructed by RDD under convergence.Naeem Akhtar lauded the role of Rural Development Department in assisting the Department of Education in developing infrastructure of schools in rural areas.
