Urging government of India to initiate an unconditional and time bound dialogue process with all stakeholders including separatists in Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Front president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said that sending civil society and other delegation to Kashmir won’t solve the problem. In a statement issued to KNS, he said, “From Yashwant Sinha led delegation to Seema Mustafa led current delegation several people from New Delhi have been making beelines to Kashmir in the last month or so. However, such delegations can’t settle the Kashmir issue as they don’t have any mandate from the GoI.” “Instead of sending such delegations, it is appropriate time for New Delhi to initiate a meaningful and time bound dialogue process with all the stakeholders including separatists in Kashmir. Seemingly the situation in Kashmir is better than what it was a few months back. New Delhi shouldn’t take it as its victory and forget the real issue which is Kashmir problem,” Hakim Yasin said.“By having Kehwa talks with people in Kashmir, these delegations who have no mandate can achieve nothing. It is a futile exercise and GoI needs to think over it,” he added.

Asking New Delhi to shun its rigid stance vis-a-vis Kashmir, he said, “Lakhs of people who were on roads in Kashmir during the summer unrest can again do the same in future if the political aspirations of Kashmiris aren’t addressed. Cosmetic exercises won’t help anymore as time and again it has been proven that Kashmir issue needs a permanent solution,” the PDF chief said.He also urged the government to immediately stop the arrest spree in Kashmir and hold a judicial probe into the excesses committed during the four-month long unrest. “The government must immediately release all the political detainees and separatist leaders to pave way for a meaningful dialogue as by the dent of force no solution can be achieved,” the MLA Khansahib said. The PDF chief said the “Agenda of Alliance” reached between the PDP and the BJP states that dialogue will be held with both separatists and Pakistan. “If “Agenda of Alliance” exists, then what is stopping the Central and State governments from holding dialogue with Pakistan and separatists on Kashmir,” he asked.
