Special meeting deliberates on commencing vaccination campaign to save girls from cervix cancer

The Punjab Government would begin first phase of free vaccination campaign from Mansa and Bathinda on 25th and 26th November for the girls studying in the 6th standard in the government schools of the state.Disclosing this in a special meeting here today, the Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Mrs. Vinni Mahajan said that the aim of this campaign is to save girls from cervix cancer and the micro plans have been sent to the districts in order to ensure the success of the campaign. She also revealed that the medical officers have been provided with specialized training for eradication of cervix cancer.In the meeting Advisor (Health) Dr. K.K. Talwar, Secretary Health & Family Welfare Hussan Lal, Director General School Education Pradeep Sabharwal, H.O.D. (Gynae) PGI Chandigarh Dr. Vanita Suri, Director Health and Family Welfare Dr. H.S. Bali, Programme Officer Dr. Rajesh Bhaskar and other senior officers were also present.
