Prakash Javadekar inaugurates National Integration Camp cum Social Science Exhibition-2016

Hon’ble Union HRD Minister  Prakash Javadekar said that the unique feature of this event is that the students of one part of the country exhibit the cultural diversity of the other part of the country and the world. He also appreciated Kendriya Vidyalaya for its quality education while emphasizing on the need to focus quality in the education. Mr. Javadekar was speaking at the inaugural function of the National Integration Camp cum Social Science Exhibition-2016 organized by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan in New Delhi today.Sh. Javadekar appreciated the cultural diversity of Indian exhibited by the KV Students on this occasion. He visited every stall in the exhibition and also interacted with students who came from 25 regions of Kendriya Vidyalaya across the country. He highlighted that such activities would enrich students by giving opportunity to share platform with students from different parts of country, experience cultural diversity and develop deeper understanding of the Ek Bharat-Shreshth Bharat. 

This will instill feeling of mutual respect and acceptance for diversity of ethos, culture, food, feeling etc. Unity in Diversity is indeed the strength of the nation. Union Minister while emphasizing importance of teachers training and quality education, also assured that the transfer policy of teachers of the Kendriya Vidyalaya will be further streamlined and made transparent. He also called upon students to understand their responsibilities towards community.Sh. Santosh Kumar Mall, Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghtan, presented the overview of the National Integration Camp cum Social Science Exhibition while welcoming the Guests. States were assigned in such a way that students may get this opportunity to explore the cultural beauty of a totally different state of the Country. This ultimately brings a feeling of Cultural and National Integration among youngsters. 

The very concept of National Integration Camp cum Social Science Exhibition is unique in many ways. The 25 regions of KVS cover 25 Indian States and 25 Countries altogether in terms of the cultural heritage- Dance, Music, Song, and Socio-Economic progress. This mega-event is a broad platform for the students to display their creativity, originality, artistic skills, etc. It gives them an opportunity to know about the culture, tradition, art and architecture of not only the other states of India but of the various countries of the world. In the process of satiating the thirst for information, they overcome many challenges and linguistic and geographical barriers and awaken a strong sense of national pride and widen their horizons with a better cosmopolitan outlook. In nut-shell, the programme not only encompasses performing arts but also provides a glimpse of the processes through which they learn and acquire knowledge. 

This year 1200 students with 125 escorts have come together to be the part of this mega event. Students participated in English & Hindi Debate, Quiz, Project Display and Presentation, Skit, Solo Song, Group Dance, Group Song, Sanskrit Shloka Recitation, English Elocution, Hindi Kavya Path, Sanskrit Quiz and on Spot Painting Competitions. The Integration Camp provides an authentic platform to the students to develop skill such as- Oral Communication, Public Speaking, Research, Teamwork, Planning, Self Sufficiency, Goal Setting or Technological and Online Literacy. KVS National Social Science Exhibition–cum-National Integration Camp is organized at School, Cluster, and Regional & National level every year. All the 25 regions are allotted one State different from their own State and one Country. The students prepare projects/exhibits on the culture, customs, dress, crops, economy, climate etc of the State and of the Country allotted to them. The States and Countries are rotated each year. Senior Officers of the Ministry of HRD and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan were present at the function among the other dignitaries.
