Indian, USA & England In Men Section Score Hattrick, Canada Also Wins Their Second Match

The matches on the seventh day of Dr BR Ambedkar 6th World Cup Kabaddi 2016, five matches were held in the Khalsa Stadium of historical Rode village of Moga district. In today's matches, India, USA, Canada and England scored victories over their opponents. In women section, Kenya also scored their first victory of World Cup Kabaddi. Men section teams from Kenya and Sweden lost their third consecutive losses of the mega sporting tournament.

A large number of spectators had gathered at village Rode, which had hosted the World Cup Kabaddi matches for the first time. In matches of men section, Canada defeated Sweden by 48-30, England defeated Sierra Leone by 48-30, India defeated Sri Lanka by 49-35, and USA defeated Australia by 48-37. While in women section, Kenya defeated Mexico by 45-11.Punjab PWD Minister Mr Janmeja Singh Sekhon was the chief guest for today’s matches. MLA’s Maheshinder Singh Nihalsinghwala, Mr Joginderpal Jain, Punjab Health Systems Corporation Chairman Mr Barjinder Singh Brar, former Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh Rode, Capt Harcharan Singh Rode, SAD District President Tirath Singh Mahla, Moga Mayor Akshit Jain, Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Vaid, DIG Ranbir Singh Khattra, SSP Snehdeep Sharma, Assistant Director Sports Department Kartar Singh Sehamby, District Sports Officer Sunil Kumar, were also present on the occasion.

Match 1: Men Section: Canada Defeat Sweden By 59-23:

In first match of the day, Canada defeated Sweden by 59-23. Canadian raiders Sukhraj Singh scored 11 and Inderjit Singh scored 6 points while stoppers Sandeep Singh secured 6 and Baljit Singh Saidoke secured 3 points for his team. For Sweden, raiders Khushwinder Singh scored 9, Akash 5 and Raj Kumar scored 3 points, and stoppers Jaap Singh secured 2 and Gurinder Singh secured 1 point.

Match 2: Men Section: England Defeat Sierra Leone By 48-30:

In second match of the day, England defeated Sierra Leone by 48-30. For England, raiders Gurdev Gopi scored 9, Gurdit Singh scored 8 and Narwinder scored 7 points and stoppers Sandeep Singh Nangal Ambia secured 6 and Aman Uppal secured 3 points. For Sierra Leone, raiders Samual scored 11 and William scored 6 and stopper Camwell secured 1 points.

Match 3: Men Section: India Defeat Sri Lanka 49-35:

Indian team scored their third consecutive victory of the World Cup Kabaddi by defeating Sri Lanka by 49-35. Indian Raiders Makhi scored 10, Sandeep Singh scored 8 and Sultan scored 5 points while stoppers Sultan scored 2, Ranjodh Singh and Sukhjinder Singh secured 1 point each. For Sri Lanka, raider Prasanna scored 7 and Susantha scored 6 points.

Match 4: Women Section: Kenya Defeat Mexico By 45-11:

While scoring their first victory of the World Cup Kabaddi, Kenya defeated Mexico by 45-11. For Kenya, raiders Nadoongin scored 10 while Lilian and Massi scored 5 points each, and for Mexico, raiders Alexandra scored 3 and Tanya scored 2 points and stoppers Christina secured 5 points.

Match 5: Men Section: Usa Defeat Australia By 48-37:

In last match of day, USA defeated Australia by 48-37. For USA, raiders Dulla scored 9 and Baljit Singh scored 7 points, while stoppers Gurpreet Singh and Gurman scored 4 points each and for Australia, raiders Raj Kumar scored 16 points and Amarjit scored 12, while stoppers Boota secured 4 and Sukhdeep secured 3 points.
