DDC reviews progress of PMGSY projects

District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz today convened a meeting with collectors and officers of various executing agencies to review the pace of ongoing works under PMGSY.ACR (Collector) Ramban, SDM (Collector) Gool, Chief Planning Officer, AD, Executive Engineer, Tehsildar Ramban and other officers were present in the meeting.The meeting was informed that out of 40 sanctioned schemes for the district, work on 30 projects are apace. It was further revealed that 12 works stand completed after expending Rs 9857.77 lakh for spreading the road network of 220 km. It was also given out that works on four bridges is going on and around 57 hamlets also stand connected so far with motorable road. While deliberating on Seri to Sucha road under  eighth phase, District Development Commissioner instructed the concerned collector to conduct joint verification with engineers after taking the locals into confidence as early as possible to resolve the issue of land compensation and  expedite the works .District Development Commissioner instructed the engineers for early completion of stage first of Chanderkote-Rajgarh road.

Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner also directed ACR Ramban for providing early compensation for Batote-Chakwa and other roads whose compensation amount has already been sanctioned. He further asked for resolving the issue of structure on Maitra-Balawat road whose fifty percent amount has been distributed to the house owners.Further, District Development Commissioner instructed the Executive Engineer Banihal to resolve the issues and speed up the works on the roads like Hewagan to Dhanmasta, Alinbas to Hoonga, Sarbagni to Shagun, Banihal to Mangit and various other roads of Banihal division.The DDC issued instructions to the engineers to strictly follow the guidelines of the Ribbon Development Act in removing illegal structures from the roads He also asked the engineers and collectors to provide comprehensive detail of the works, amount of compensation provided and pendency, working condition of the roads, forest clearance, felling of trees, DPRs of stage-II and other factors responsible for causing unusual delay in the works.
