One Time Relaxation In Interest Outsatnding / Penalty On Water Supply & Sewerage Dues : Anil Joshi

In the interest of general public, government of Punjab has offered one time relaxation in the interest outstanding / penalty on water supply & sewerage dues pertaining to all Municipal Corporations / Municipal Councils / Nagar Panchayats, informed Mr. Anil Joshi, Cabinet Minister Punjab.Giving further details he informed that to avail this benefit, the user will have to pay 25% of the user charges accrued till August 31,2016 and the balance amount in six equal installments by June 30, 2017. He added that in case of failure in timely payment of any of the installments, the user himself will be responsible for the penalty / interest levied upon the balance payment.Local Government Minister further informed that the payment of new bills related to water supply / sewage user charges during this period will be settled as per the set rules / instructions. Minister disclosed that orders have also been issued to all Municipal Corporations/ Municipal Councils / Nagar Panchayats, Sewerage Board's offices and other concerned institutions where such dues are generally cleared, to set up special counters to dispense information on availing exemption from penalty/interest due and have also been directed to facilitate on the spot settlement of dues on due verification of the same (in writing) by the user.
