CGC Jhanjeri Students won top positions in PEC, Thapar & LPU

The students of Chandigarh Group of Colleges  Jhanjeri won a record number of prizes in various cultural events organized at PEC Chandigarh, Thapar University, Patiala and LPU, Jalandhar.In PEC FEST-16 Civil Engineering students won first prize in the event Bridge it in which they were asked to make a bridge with ice crème sticks & glue, which could hold maximum load. The team of CGC Jhanjeri comprising of Vishal, Nipun & Prashant, won first prize. Shubham, Kulbir & Rajinder won third prize in Concrete Cone in which the competitors were to make a ship by using concrete. In another technical event Hackathon Manmeet Kaur, Komal & Jaspreet Bhatti of CSE won hefty cash prizes. In JARVIS – a poster making competition, Manan won second prize. Gitish Sharma & Abhishek won third prize in a Novel Antakshri competition.

In Thapar University’s, Chem-o-Rocket Competition, Harmanpreet, Dananjay, Sukriti & Ashit bagged first and second positions & won cash prizes of Rs. 15000/- and Rs. 2500/- by designing a chemical rocket which could fly to the longest distance. Pulkit & Vishal won a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/- in “Soap Cutting” competition while Anurag & Harmanpreet won second prize in making a Catapult capable of bouncing a ball to the maximum height.At LPU Jalandhar, Akshita, Vardaan & Manan won second prize in Bridge Web competition. Naman Sharma designed a 3D Building by using AutoCAD & won first prize in designing of a swimming pool using AutoCAD Application software. Vishal, Nipun, Aashish, Pulkit & Prashant won first prize in Concanate , a survey hunt competition.Congratulating the winners, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that overall personality development is needed for a successful career of a student. CGC Jhanjeri looks after this aspect right from the beginning of a student’s course.
