The Union Minister of state in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that the proposal to build concrete bunkers for all border households is under active consideration of the government.Asserting that the miss adventure along the borders will not affect the pace of development works, the Union Minister said that proposal of bunker to every family living close to border will soon be realized.  He further informed that 1140 modern toilet facilities are being built along the border.He was speaking at programme organised to mark the formal adoption of Government Higher Secondary School Budhi - Kathua by Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) India Foundation in partnership with Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS) under the corporate responsibility endeavour.The Union Minister was the chief guest at the function.MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia, DC Ramesh Kumar, SSP Pawan Parihar, ACD Dr Sunil Sharma, BDO Barnoti, CEO, Principal, Teachers, students and representatives of PwC and SEEDs, residents of nearby villagers were also present at the function.

Dr Jitendra Singh said that it gives him immense happiness to announce that the  Government Higher Secondary School Budhi is the first adopted school in Jammu division and appreciated the venture of SEEDs and PwC India Foundation for adopting global practices in developing this school infra prioritizing drinking water and sanitation facilities at school. He further said that concerted efforts are the need of the hour to make Kathua, the first ODF district in the state.Listing various projects being implemented in Kathua, Dr Singh said that Bio-Tech Park, Keerian Gandyal Bridge, Medical college and Seed processing unit will prove to be a game changer for Kathua district by providing employment and as well as opening other avenues of development.Responding to the demands raised by Local MLA, he assured that the installation of lights will be soon started at Atal Setu, Basholi and Dream Land Park, Kathua.He also stated that a workshop on skill development will be organized soon as per the need and demands of locals so that better employment avenues can be created for the unemployed besides developing entrepreneurial qualities. Earlier, MLA Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia thanked Dr Jitendra Singh for making Kathua a hub of development. He said that 9 roads under PMGSY worth Rs. 50 crore have been sanctioned in various areas which will improve the overall road connectivity in the district.
