Criticizing politicians, government policy, even the Prime Minister is alright, but being critical of India in the guise of freedom of expression is unacceptable, BJP national president Amit Shah said on Friday."You can critique any political leader in the country, but no one can oppose the country itself. One can criticize the existing policies, but if you want to camouflage the criticism of the country, in the guise of freedom of expression, the country will not accept it," Shah said, while speaking at the India Ideas Conclave.Shah also said that in the post-independence era, there was no politician more criticised than Prime Minister Narendra Modi and added that one should accept criticism and tolerate it. But there are some lines, he said, which should not be crossed."One must accept criticism and tolerate it. But then going a step ahead and being critical of Modi to oppose the country, this is not real freedom of expression," Shah said at the event, being held at a resort in South Goa's Canacona town, located 90 km from Panaji.
