Strongly condemning the reign of terror unleashed by occupational forces in Rahmoo, Pulwama, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah termed it state-sponsored barbarism. In a statement issued to KNS, Shah while castigating all those associated with the PDP said: “The lust of power have made you blind. It is because of your party’s full backing that forces are snatching the light of our children. It is extremely unfortunate that the state’s chief minister and the education minister are exploiting the students in the name of examination in order to save their chairs but don’t even utter a word in favour of those children who lost their eyesight thereby boosting the morale of the occupational forces. Eventually, you (PDP) will be held answerable to your crimes against the people. So be ready for appearing before the public court.”

Describing the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti as ‘martial law administrator’, Shah said she has turned the whole valley into the Karbala where innocent children are being booked under PSAs.“We are not against the education but are fully conscious of the fact that the educated Kashmiri nation will break the chains of Indian slavery. It doesn’t befit the killers of children and those who snatch their eyesight to talk about their education,” he said.Commenting on the beating of a retired Dy SP of J&K Police and his family by Indian army personnel, Shah said the incident should serve as an “eye-opener” and a “lesson” for J&K Police. “At the end of the day, you have to return to your people and live among them. Indian forces aren’t related to you in any way but Kashmiri people are your own. So, you should introspect,” he said.

He prayed for the speedy recovery of the school children and others who got injured in forces’ barbarism in Rahmoo, Pulwama while condemning the vandalizing of properties and beating of people particularly the children in Italy Gaam, Beerwah.Shah challenged the Indian rulers and their puppets in J&K to “call forces back to their barracks and see the people’s verdict if you’re true to your claims”. He said the “example of tyranny and barbarism which India carries out in Jammu Kashmir cannot be found in any part of the world”.“When the occupational forces use bullets and lethal weapons against youths, the least retaliatory method for the latter is a stone. This is the least form of protest,” he said.Condemning the torture of thousands of youths who are languishing in police lock-ups, Shah said on one hand, these youths are caged inside the dark rooms and on other side, rates (for their release) have been fixed. “This is the worst form of exploitation,” Shah said.
