DEO Budgam reviews preparedness of summary revision

District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner), Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, today chaired a meeting to review the preparedness of Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls. The meeting was briefed that Election Commission of India (ECI) has scheduled the special summary revision of electoral rolls with January 01, 2017 as qualifying date.Various issues like implementation of the schedule, issuance of notice, receipt of claims and objections, submission of weekly progress report, preparation of checklist along with format 01-08 for roll observer, performance report of BLOs, details of funds released to the BLOs on account of EPICs, besides liabilities and ban on transfer of the officers/officials engaged with the process were discussed in detail.On the occasion, the District Election Officer stressed on implementation of the guidelines of ECI in letter and spirit. He said that the 100% enrolment of the voters in the district should be ensured so that every eligible voter can exercise his democratic right.
