Prof Amitabh Mattoo reviews progress of developmental works

Advisor to Chief Minister Prof. Amitabh Mattoo today chaired a meeting to review the progress of developmental  works initiated under various schemes  in the district at Chanderkote.While reviewing the progress of priority sectors , Prof Mattoo called upon the officers to put in strenuous efforts for removing the bottlenecks impeding the progress of various developmental works so that desired results are ensured on ground. He further asked the officers to come up with innovative ideas for overall development of the district.While taking stock of the issues of health, education and other departments Prof. Amitabh Mattoo said that needful would be done in a time bound manner for improvement of functioning of these departments.Regarding the issue of   jamming on the National Highway Prof. Mattoo asked the concerned authorities to take various necessary steps for effective  and efficient regulation of traffic on National Highway so that people don't face any inconvenience.Prof Mattoo further directed the officers of horticulture department to take innovative steps for promotion of apple, Kiwi and Olive's as the district is having the requisite climatic conditions for these fruits.

Earlier Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Aijaz  gave a brief resume of district profile and status of major development projects of district and steps adopted by district administration to resolve the public grievances. He added that under the project Taskeen large number of villages have been connected with each other by constructing bridges and culverts.SSP, Randeep Kumar, ADDC Ravinder Nath Sadhu, CPO Uttam Singh,  CEO, Executive Engineers PHE,PDD,PWD,PMGSY, besides others also attended the meeting.Later, Advisor to Chief Minister also held a review meeting with the officers of Patnitop Development Authority at Patnitop.The meeting among others  was attended by Chief Executive Officer, PDA Rakesh Sarangal .During the meeting, Prof. Mattoo reviewed various developmental activities  being carried out at Patnitop and adjoining tourist destinations such as Construction of Budget accommodation at Sanasar and Kud, Patnitop Ropeway Project ,Sewerage treatment plant, blacktopping of circular road at Patnitop, Mobile toilets, Installation of sitting benches and Dustbins etc.Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Mattoo directed the CEO to provide more facilities to tourists visiting Patnitop and adjoining tourist destinations. He further stressed for  taking steps  to attract tourists to these destinations throughout the year.Prof Mattoo was apprised by the CEO about the services being provided to the tourists at Tourist Reception Centre Patnitop.
