Tenth Agricultural Census with reference year 2015-16 was launched in the Srinagar district today. The Agricultural Census is a large Statistical Operation and the information collected through it is quite significant for the policy planners. It was first launched by the Government of India in the State in year 1970-71.Joint Director (Planning), who is working as the Technical Officer of the Scheme briefed the Revenue Staff of the District Srinagar comprising Patwaries, Girdawars, Naib Tehsildars etc about the importance of the scheme. He briefed them about the general introduction of the 10th Agriculture Census and its importance for framing of polices, priorities and strategy for achieving fixed targets in Agriculture sector.As many as 110 officers and officials of Revenue Department participated in the training programme.
