War Memorial: A Unique Initiative Of Badal’s Vision, Which Has Won The Hearts Of Ex-Servicemen Fraternity- Sareen

Euphoric over the Inauguration of the state of the art Punjab State War Heroes Memorial and Museum, the war veterans today showered heaps of praise for the state government especially the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for taking this unique initiative to preserve great history of Armed forces. In his address former Chief of Indian Army General JJ Singh said that this was a momentous occasion for the entire country as a new chapter of preserving our rich heritage has been scripted with the dedication of this memorial to the nation. Drawing a parallel of this memorial with the one at Waterloo, he said that one lion in Waterloo memorial and three lions at PSWHMM warned our enemies for a befitting reply to their nefarious designs. General JJ Singh also recalled the stellar role of Punjabis in every sphere of nation's service. General JJ Singh highly appreciated the Chief Minister for building several memorials to preserve our rich cultural heritage to keep our younger generations abreast about it. 

In his address Air Chief Marshall (Retd.) SK Sareen also lauded the vision of Chief Minister for constructing an unparalleled state of the art memorial to showcase the glorious role of Armed forces during past 600 years. The former Air Chief Marshall said that this unique initiative of Mr. Badal has won the hearts of ex-servicemen fraternity. Expressing solidarity with the Chief Minister regarding his prime concern for security and safety of the country, Mr. Sareen assured him that if anyone stares our country with evil eye, then not only serving Army soldiers but even war veterans would teach them a hash lesson.In his address Secretary of Commonwealth War Graves Commission Mr. Richard Hill also complemented the Chief Minister for this state of the art memorial. Mr. Richard also lauded the stellar role of Indians in world Armed forces history. He mentioned the Commonwealth War Grave Commission today commemorates 1.7 million causalities in 154 countries worldwide- within that figure they care for the graves and memorials of nearly two lakh soldiers from the old Indian army adding that this memorial would be a perfect homage to the bravery and supreme sacrifice of millions of Indian soldiers.
