Minister for Agriculture Production, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura has reviewed the arrangements for the annual Urs of Alamdar-e-Kashmir, Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA) which would commence from October 26 at a meeting of officers held here today.Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad briefed the meeting about the arrangements put in place to facilitate hassle free visit of devotees to the Shrine during the Urs days.Speaking on the occasion, the Minster said that people of different religions throng the shrine of the revered saint and directed all concerned to ensure adequate arrangements for the visitors. The issues which came into discussion included, erecting of shamyanas, illumination of the shrine, uninterrupted electric supply with provision of generator sets, medicare facilities, transportation and parking facilities around the shrine.The Minister emphasized the need for undertaking a special sanitation drive in and around the Shrine complex to give a facelift to the site. 

He also directed for setting up of mobile toilet facilities for the convenience of devotees. He directed the PDD officials to ensure that all street lights are made fully functional in collaboration with Yousmarg Development Authority. The PHE authorities were directed to ensure adequate safe drinking water supply and tankers and install temporary Wazu Khanas and Water Tap points for the convenience of devotees.The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department officials were directed to ensure sufficient stock of ration, sugar, K. Oil and LPG, poultry birds on concessional rates for the locals for timely distribution. He also directed the concerned to take up the issue of providing additional 1 kg sugar and additional quota of rice to the inhabitants of Chrar-e-Sharief and its adjoining areas with the higher authorities in view of the Urs.It was also decided to set up a joint control room involving officials of Health, Engineering wings, Police and other concerned departments under the overall supervision of Tehsildar Chrar-e-Sharief. The control room will have special helpline no 9419007869  to facilitate the devotees during the Urs days.Vice Chairman Waqf Board Peerzada Mohammad Hussain, Shrine administrators and connected senior citizens also attended the meeting and apprised the meeting about the arrangements put in place.
