Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has lambasted Prime Minister Narednra Modi led BJP government at the centre for taking a complete U turn on its pre poll promise that it would ensure 50% profit over the input costs to the farmers.AAP, Punjab Convener, Gurpreet Singh Waraich said it was indeed very disappointing to know that BJP's union agricultural minister Radha Mohan Singh completely ruled out implementation of 50% profit over the input cost to the farmers which is one of the major recommendation of the MS Swaminathan commission report. In fact Radha Mohan went even a step further to ensure that the aforesaid recommendation which could have given relief to lakhs of farmers in Punjab as well as all over the country by saying it was not feasible at all. Before the Lok Sabha polls in 2014, Modi in his various public speeches had promised to double the farmers' income. This is nothing but sheer cheating and betrayal by the BJP with the voters. " It seems BJP has been reduced d to a party of Jumlas which is back tracking from most of its poll promises slowly and gradually", added Waraich.

Waraich said it was also sad to know that the union agricultural minister had no plans for the waiving off the debt of the Punjab farmers which has been a long pending demand of the state and due to which a large section of the peasantry was already committing suicides. On the other hand Radha Mohan had said that he was completely ignorant about any plan of debt waiver for the Punjab farmers. He rather suggested to the Parkash Singh Badal led Punjab government to do its bit by offering loans to the farmers at zero percent interest. In Ludhiana too PM Modi has completely ignored Badal who had sought special treatment packages for its agricultural and industrial sectors.Waraich said if Badal had even iota of respect and sympathy for the farmers and businessmen of Punjab he should immediately pull out of Modi led BJP  government." But knowing Badal's greed for power and money we all know that he will never pull out of Modi's government no matter how much the BJP government humiliates him", said Waraich. Before the Lok Sabha polls even Badal had told the people of Punjab to vote for Modi and his BJP party. Badal had said if BJP came to power under Modi he would send truck loads of money to Punjab. In fact ever since BJP government came at the centre it has stopped all financial grants and packages to the Badal government' added Waraich.
