Pay It Back To The City: Punjab Governor Asks Industrialists At “Leadership Summit & Awards”

In line with plethora of initiatives launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India together with  tailor made schemes of the states towards making India a manufacturing hub, world’s number one economic power, ASSOCHAM today organized “Leadership Summit & Awards: Redefining Leadership for 21st Century” & “Industry Academia Interface- Bridging Skill Gap” at Hotel Lalit Chandigarh.Interacting with the renowned Industrialists of the region, the Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore expressed his views on making Chandigarh the smartest city in the world with the support and contribution of the industries and the game changers of the society.Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that it is extremely important to know the challenges you face at the place you live. Talking further, he emphasized that Punjab has paved way for the country in the area of Agriculture. It is known on the world map because of the outstanding contribution in filling the granaries of the Country and becoming a leader in making green revolution a stupendous success. 

Sharing his thoughts on the Leadership, the Governor cited an example that every family of Punjab has a member living in the foreign country. They have worked hard to ensure their next generation gets everything that is required to be successful. The NRI’s have done tremendously well by investing in the education of their next generation. “There are no shortcuts to success, and education plays an important role to get to the top”, he reiterated.The potential of Chandigarh and Punjab is tapped, but there is still so much to do. This is where ASSOCHAM shall contribute. It is the moment when all the big players come together with new ideas to take the city forward. Le Corbusier has given us the well planned city, and now it is our time to make our contribution to it. “Pay it back to the City”, he emphasized, and encouraged all the Industrialists present at the Summit.Let’s bring CSR to the centre stage and bring upgradation in all the skill development programmes started by the Government of India.
