Akali sarpanch and Badal’s driver should not flaunt VIP links to browbeat dalits in Punjab

Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday condemned the brutal killing and dismembering of the body of 21 year old dalit youth Sukhchain Singh of Village Gharanghna in Mansa district on Tuesday. Criticizing Punjab government and State Police in failing to provide security to the residents of Punjab, AAP State Convener, Gurpreet Singh Waraich said that Law and order situation has gone from bad to worst in the state during present Akali-BJP regime.“The incident is the horrifying reminder of the Bhim Tank Murder case of Abohar and shows that drug and liquor mafia patronage by Akali Leaders is killing the dalits everyday without any fear of Police.” Waraich said. The relatives of the victim said that the accused hail from same village  and  are realities of Punjab Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal’s driver Niranjan Singh.Waraich said that the lives of dalits and poor are not safe under SAD-BJP rule as they themselves are behind every atrocity in the state. He said that same had happened in the Abohar Murder Case where the halka in-charge of Akali Dal, Shiv Lal Doda was directly involved in the murder of Bhim Tank and now in this case the killers also have VIP links.Waraich also took serious note of attack on dalits by Akali supporters at village Jhalur in Sangrur district. More than 20 dalit families have decided to leave the village fearing their lives. “The power-drunk Akali leaders are trying to get control of the natural resources as well as the trade in the state and let the dalits not even take the village common land allotted to the community.” said Waraich.
