Ch. Zulfkar Ali reviews progress on developmental projects in Doda

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Zulfkar Ali today reviewed pace of progress of ongoing development projects in the district here at a high level meeting.MLA, Doda Shakti Parihar, MLCs Naresh Gupta & Sham Lal Bhagat, DC Doda Bhupinder Kumar and other officers of line departments were present in the meeting.The Minister was informed that the work on the prestigious Ganpat Bridge is nearing completion and only some work of right approach road is left.Giving details of other projects, the DC   informed that work on five major and medium bridges is going on which include 54 m span motorable bridge over Neeru nallah at Khulsari, 1450 m span steel girder bridge over river Chenab at Shiva Dal, 40 m span motorable bridge over Neeru nallah at Dhareja, motorable bridge at Gandoh, approach road from Sartingal to Mounda bridge, 35 m span motorable bridge over Neeru nallah at Mounda Bhaderwah.He further informed that the work is also afoot on construction of Court Complex Doda, construction of DC Office cum Mini Secretariat at Doda, construction of outdoor stadium in Doda, Sub district hospital Bhaderwah, 100 bedded sub district hospital Gandoh, construction of PHC Bhella and other projects.

Reviewing the pace of progress of works, the Minister stressed on close monitoring of pace and quality of work by conducting periodical review of each project. “To ensure early benefits of projects to the people there is a need to complete these in stipulated time frame for which government will provide adequate funds” he assured.Earlier, the Minister also launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in Doda, wherein free LPG connections were given to eligible women beneficiaries.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said, “In Doda, only 43.7 percent households have LPG connections and the government has set a target to achieve maximum coverage in the district by the end of 2018”.“The prime objective of our visionary CM Mehbooba Mufti is to empower women of the state and thus, the government has started various schemes including Ladli Beti, Marriage Assistance Scheme and others for their welfare,” the Minister said, adding that the women should come forward to take optimum benefit of various state and centrally sponsored schemes.The Minster further said that the government is launching this scheme at district level to ensure transparent and fair distribution of LPG cylinders to the targeted beneficiaries.
