Dr. Jitendra Singh chairs DISHA meeting at Kishtwar

Minister of State DONER (Ind. Charge), Development of North Eastern States, Youth Affair and Sports , PMO, Pension, Personal, Public Grievance, Atomic energy and Space Dr. Jatinder Singh today chaired a meeting to review the achievements under centrally sponsored schemes under DISHA Programme in district Doda and Kishtwar. The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Transport, PWD (R&B), Revenue, Rural development and Panchayati Raj Sunil Sharma, MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar,  DDC Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan, DDC Doda Bhupinder Kumar, SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir, ADC Kishtwar, ACD Kishtwar, CPO Kishtwar besides other district and sectoral officers  . Dr Jatinder took a comprehensive review of physical and financial achievements of all the centrally sponsored schemes like MGNREGA, RMSA, PMGSY, NSAP, NRLM, PMUJ, SAGY etc.The Deputy Commissioners of both the districts gave a power point presentation on the achievements.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar said that under PMGSY Phase-10 more than 600 crore have been sanctioned for the Chenab region which was only possible with the personal intervention of union  minster.Mr Sunil Sharma while appreciating the efforts of Dr Jatinder Singh in overall development of the region said that further help will be required in certain matters pertaining to Education sector, PHE, Agriculture and so on. He requested the MP to consider increase in funding under National Health Mission for the hilly terrain of district Doda and Kishtwar. He further asked the MP to give nod to the number of projects taken up under agriculture sector  in the district and sent to GOI for its approval.

Dr Jatinder Singh, responding to the issues raised by the legislators as well as District administration, said that the present government is committed to overall development of the region. 

He asked  the district administration of the twin districts to be more active in implementing the schemes and directed the concerned agencies to make best use of funds available in a time bound manner to prevent cost escalation.Dr Singh said that the government is also considering the process of simplifying the DPR process as most of the times     projects are delayed  due to delay in submission of DPR. He said provision would be made for online submission of DPR    with auto acknowledgment to reduce delay in approval from various offices. He further directed the district officers to submit UCs  in time for timely release of installments. He further directed Deputy Commissioners to fix   timeline for 100% electrification of rural areas.
