Ajay Nanda attends ‘All India Devotional Song Competition’

As a part of celebrations of  Navratra Festival 2016, an ‘All India Devotional Song Competition’ was organized by the District  administration Reasi in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Tourism Department at Katra.The Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Revenue and Rehabilitation, Information Technology, Ajay Nanda was the chief guest and Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Ravinder Kumar was the guest of honour on the occasion.Speaking at the event, Mr. Nanda appreciated the spiritual strengthening through these devotional songs for infusing peace and harmony in all spheres of human thinking and action. He congratulated the artists on their sterling performances.The chief guest along with the guest of honour distributed prizes among the winners. Sushmita Banerjee was adjudged first in the competition while Yasir Hussain and Vivek Mohan from Jammu bagged the second and third positions respectively.

On the 4th day of the festival, a shobha yatra cum cultural procession was taken out in Katra with the main attraction being Jhankies in which artists from all over the country participated and showcased their regional cultures.Later in the day, a Hasya vyang competition was also organised by the District administration in which 22 artists participated and 12 qualified for the semi-finals.Among others, CEO Mansar Surinsar Development Authority, Vikas Gupta, SDM Katra, Neelam Khajuria, ASP, Sumir Kotwal, A.D Tourism Dr. Umesh Shan, Tehsildar, Katra Mohit Raina , Chairman Hotelier Association Katra Sham lal Kesar, Members of Navratra Maha  Utsav Committee and other prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
