JKLF condemns prolonged incarceration of leaders, arrest of Aasiya Andrabi

Ashraf bin Salam’s son passes away, Malik expresses grief

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Wednesday strongly condemned the prolonged incarceration of its leaders and activists among whom many have been booked under black law PSA.While terming the ongoing spree of arrests as ‘clear sign of frustration’ of ‘so-called rulers’ and their authorities, JKLF in a statement issued to KNS said that ailing JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik continues to remain in solitary confinement in shabby JIC cell at Humhama against the advice of doctors while as vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt who is suffering from diabetes and has to take insulin daily along with JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi and senior vice president Kashmir zone Muhammad Yasin Butt who recently suffered a heart attack and has to take various medicines have been lodged at central jail Srinagar.The spokesman said that JKLF zonal president, Noor Muhammad Kalwal along with, district president Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Rather (Boya), JKLF activists Fayaz Ahmad Mir from Ganderbal, Shabir Ahmad Ganaie of Kakapora Pulwama, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Kupwara and Assadullah Sheikh of Kulagam after being booked under PSA are languishing in Jammu jails.Similarly, JKLF zonal organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri is detained at police station Kothibagh.

JKLF also condemned the continuous arrest and house arrest of APHC leaders including APHC (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, APHC (M) chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umer Farooq, Hurriyat leaders Shabir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Bilal Ahmad Sideequi, Muhammad Altaf shah, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Zafar Akbar Butt, Ayaz Akbar, Doctor G M Hubbi, Hakeem Abdul Rashid and Advocate Muhammad Shafi Reshi and many others who are either languishing in jails or detained at their residences by occupational forces.JKLF also strongly condemned the arrest of Dukhtaran I Millat chief, Aasiya Andrabi and various Ulema and religious scholars especially from south Kashmir and said that these kind of harsh oppressive methods of India and its Kashmiri stooges will never succeed in defeating the valor, passion and will of the people of Jammu Kashmir who are striving against illegal occupation peacefully.

Meanwhile, as per the statement, the son of JKLF zonal press in-charge, Ashraf bin Salam passed away last night.Deceased Junaid Yousuf Waza was only twenty three and breathed his last late last night after a brief illness.After completing his hotel management course, he was employed with a Saudi Arabian hotel in mecca and had recently returned to Kashmir for vacations.Deceased was son of a martyr Muhammad Yousuf Waza who embraced martyrdom in early ninety’s when Junaid was not even born. From his childhood he was adopted and patronized by JKLF zonal press in charge Ashraf Bin Salam and his sudden death is a great loss and grief for the whole JKLF.Meanwhile, Malik has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family as JKLF vice chairman Mushtaq Ajmal, secretary general engineer Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi, zonal vice president Muhammad Sideeq shah and others visited his residence, participated in his funeral prayers and expressed condolences to his bereaved family.Condolence meetings for the deceased are being held at his residence at Sheikhpora near Dar Ul Uloom sheikh ul Aalam and DPS School Budgam.It is worth to mention that his congregational prayers (Fateh Khawani) will be held after Friday prayers on 7th October 2016 at his graveyard Ompora Budgam.
