Ch. Zulfkar Ali reviews Shopian dev works

Applauds District Admin for accomplishing CM’s commitments

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today reviewed pace of ongoing developmental works in Shopian district and stressed on for their timely completion.Legislators, Muhammad Yousuf Bhat, Aijaz Mir, Zaffar Manhas, Deputy Commissioner Shopian G.M. Dar, Director FCS&CA Tasaduq Jeelani, SSP Shopian, and senior district and sect oral officers attended the meeting.On the occasion, DC Shopian apprised the Minister about the major developmental activities carried out during the current financial year. It was informed that various important projects have been completed in the district by expending 44 percent of Rs 34. 30 crore of available budget. Notable achievements included macadamization of 15.50km of road length, upgradation of 26.2km of  road length by way of all grades, construction of flood protection bunds along the banks of Rembehara River, besides various projects in P.H.E., P.D.D., Health Department & Horticulture Department.The Minister applauded the district administration for accomplishing the Chief Minister’s commitments and implementation of Board Decisions in the stipulated time. He expressed great satisfaction about overall development scenario in the district and stressed upon the officers to work with added zeal and zest to achieve 100% targets in physical and financial terms.

Mr. Zulfkar assured the district administration that sufficient funds would be made available by the present Government and no project will die down due to paucity of funds.Keeping in view the great potential of the district to be developed on Tourism map of the state, he said the all seven lakes in this region of Himalayas will be connected and developed under special tourism circuit and this district will be connected to Budhal area of district Rajouri via Konsernag. He said this will boast tourism in this area and take the district to new heights of development.Further, the Minister assured that equitable development of all the areas of the district will be carried out. He directed the DC to ensure that suitable number of trucks are made available to ferry fruits to different markets within and outside the state.
