DDC Shopian inaugurates Sanitation Week

Municipality Committee Shopian today started a week long sanitation programme. The programme was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Shopian at the town headquarter. The programme will remain in operation for complete one week, where the focus will be on health and hygiene.The main objective for celebrating Sanitation and Hygiene week is to encourage communities to priorities sanitation, health and hygiene.The critical importance of looking after sanitation facilities is advocated.The Communities are well informed of the need to practice good hygiene practices, like washing of hands after using the toilet and before preparing and eating food.Communities and stakeholders are well informed and updated of the progress made in sanitation and health & hygiene promotion programme.
