Revised schedule for special summary revision of electoral rolls

Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda, Mohammad Hanief Malik today convened a meeting of Revenue officers and representatives of various Political parties to apprise them with the revised schedule for summary revision of electoral rolls.ADC Doda informed that the Election Commission of India has fixed the programme for the special summary revision of electoral rolls with reference to 1st January 2017 as the qualifying date.While chairing the meeting ADC asked the ERO/AERO's to hold the meetings with political parties and other stake holders,  so that they appoint their booth level agents and submit the list to the concerned officers.All the Sub-divisional Magistrates were directed to ensure that every awareness camp held in their respective jurisdiction are linked with SVEEP campaign. Moreover CEO Doda was directed to ensure that the schedule of summary revision is communicated to all the students through schools in the district.

ADC further informed that the revised date for the "draft publication of electoral rolls" is September 30, 2016 and period for filing of claims and objections is from September 30 to October 31, 2016.Reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in Gram Sabha, Local Bodies and RWA meeting etc. and verification of names is October 01 and October 08 2016. The special campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections has been fixed on 15th and 22nd October and disposal of claims and objections by November 15, 2016.Updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and preparation and printing of Supplementary list is to be done by December 10, 2016 and the final publication of Electoral Rolls is on January 10 2017, the meeting was informed.
