Minister for Rural Development Department and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq, took a comprehensive review of key developmental projects being executed in Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar districts in an officers meeting convened here today.The Minister called for a proactive approach to expedite implementation of development projects so that the benefit of these vital works could reach to the targeted population in time. “Delay in project completion not only deprives the people of basic services but obstructs the objective of launching ambitious projects for overall development of people “, he asserted.  MLAs, Shakti Parihar and Dalip Parihar, MLCs Firdous Tak and Sham Lal, DIG Doda Kishwtar Ramban range, Nissar Ahmad, DDCs Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar Bhupinder Kumar, Mohammad Ajaz and Ghulam Nabi Balwan besides other districts offices were present in the meeting.While taking review of the development projects being implemented in these districts, the Minister directed the concerned officers and executing agencies to speed up the pace of all works to ensure their timely completion.A detailed power point presentation was given by the respective Deputy Commissioners which highlighted the physical and financial achievements registered under various schemes in the district.DDC Doda informed that the famous Ganpat bridge over river Chenab being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.35.71 crore has been completed and will be made operational as soon as the approach road gets completed. 

He also gave brief description of few other bridges connecting large population to the main towns like motor able bridge at Khulsari, Dhareja, Steel  girder bridge at Shiva dal etc.The Minister also reviewed construction of outdoor sports stadium and mini secretariat at Doda and directed the concerned to expedite the work so that the facilities could be availed by the people at the earliest.Taking stock of health sector, the Minister was informed that construction work of 100 bedded hospital Gandoh, PHC Bhella, Bharath, Gundna, remodelling of old building of district hospital Doda and sub-district Bhaderwah for establishment of MCH wing, is going on in full swing and are expected to be completed in few months for public use.Besides, the process of land acquisition for construction of GMC Doda has been completed and an amount of Rs.350 lakh has already been released for the purpose.Abdul Haq, while reviewing progress on projects being executed in Ramban, was informed about the status of construction of new district complex to be raised at an estimate cost of Rs.37.17 crore which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Regarding health sector, the Minster was informed that construction of Rs.9 crore District hospital Ramban and Rs.20.18 crore 50 bedded hospital in Banihal has been started.Reviewing the education sector, DDC Ramban informed the meeting that the work on polytechnic college at Ramban and a degree college at Banihal is in full swing and expected to be completed soon.The Minster also enquired about the status of Receiving station at Chanderkot, Ukhral and Khari.While reviewing the status of development works in Kishtwar, the Minister was informed that the process of land identification for construction of Govt degree college Marwah has been done. Besides, 73 kanal of land for construction of Degree college Chatroo and 60 kanal for Govt Polytechnic College Kishtwar has been handed over to the concerned department.DDC Ramban informed that two major water supply schemes have been taken up in the district to overcome water scarcity.The Minister directed the district administration to take up projects in a phased manner so that their timely completion is ensured for larger interest of the people. He directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure strict monitoring of development works and fix the responsibilities on concerned officers.Later, Abdul Haq inaugurated Kissan Mela at Fruit Mandi Paryote organized by the department of Horticulture.
