Inspects school, inaugurates development work

Speaker, Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, said that quality education is essential for development of nation and the present dispensation is keen to further streamline all parameters of education in all public schools of the state.He said this while inspecting the functioning of Government Primary School, Shankar Colony in Gangyal.Responding to school’s demand, the Speaker further said that new toilet complex would be constructed in the school, besides providing playground facility to the children in the vicinity of school premises.He appealed the teachers to work with honesty and dedication for inculcating moral qualities in students, besides ensuring their participation in extra-curricular activities.The Speaker directed the school management to keep the school clean and educate the children about benefits of maintaining cleanliness in and around their surroundings. The girl students must be educated about the schemes being implemented by the government for their welfare, he added.

Meanwhile, the Speaker also inaugurated a lane in Ward No. 55 of Shankar Colony constructed with a cost of Rs. 3.50 lakh.On the occasion, the people of the area apprised the Speaker of the problems being faced by them related to power supply, water supply, healthcare, road connectivity and sanitation.The Speaker informed that various developmental works are being initiated for the development of the state and providing basic amenities to people is our top priority.He appealed the masses to come forward and take optimum benefit of various state and centrally sponsored schemes including Ladli Beti, AASRA, PM Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Ujjwal Yojana, PM Suraksha Beema Yojana and others.
