Directs officers to thwart illegal construction in green zone

The Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today visited Pahalgam area and took stock of the execution of different works undertaken by the Pahalgam Development Authority.The Deputy Commissioner inspected different works being executed by the Pahalgam Development Authority and directed the concerned to expedite the pace of execution of works so that same are completed and made functional at the earliest.CEO PDA informed that 3000 conifer saplings have been planted in the current season.Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected different Government offices including CEO, PDA, SDM, Tehsildar Pahalgam, MC Pahalgam, Forest Range office and Fisheries and interacted with the employees and got first hand appraisal of the functioning of their respective offices.

Deputy Commissioner said that stringent action would be taken against those making illegal construction in green zone and action shall also be taken against the officials abetting unauthorized construction in Pahalgam.During his meet with the local Aufaq Committee, the Deputy Commissioner sought their cooperation in normalizing the law and order situation. Besides, he also heard the issues of the local committees regarding provision of basic amenities and assured them that the district administration will take every possible measure in redressing their grievances.The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the SSP Anantnag, Mr. Zubair Ahmad Khan and Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority.
