Malik terms Swaraj’s assertions as ‘absurd’

Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik on Tuesdaysaid that people who are delivering sermons of morality and humanism at UN should introspect their own behavior towards tiny nation of Kashmir.“If one compares the killings and atrocities committed by British against Indian people and those committed by India on tiny nation of Jammu Kashmir will find later more ferocious and tyrannical. Kashmir is and was not any nation’s integral part but a disputed territory whose inhabitants are striving for their birth right,” says Malik in a statement issued to KNS.JKLF chairman while terming the assertions of Indian foreign minister, Shushma Sawraj on Jammu Kashmir at UN general council as absurd and against reality, said that Indian foreign minister was talking of high morals, human dignity and safeguarding human lives. “She also termed Kashmir as an integral part of India thus ridiculing the very UN that is certifying and guaranteeing the disputed nature of Jammu Kashmir,” he said.Malik said that how can Indian leaders talk of human lives and safeguarding them when this country itself has taken the lives of lakhs of Kashmiris during last 70 years of illegal occupation of Jammu Kashmir.

Malik said that during last 26 years, India to keep its military occupation on Jammu Kashmir intact has massacred more than one lakh Kashmiris. “Its forces have disappeared more than ten thousand people in custody and many more have been killed in their custody, chastity of thousands of our women has been attacked. Thousands of unmarked graves and vandalized properties stand a witness to this state sponsored terrorism but despite all this inhumanity Indian leaders keep raising slogans of humanism, morality and dignity of human lives in high forums like UN,” he said.

He said that Kashmiris are asking Indians to fulfil their own pledges made by its leaders like first Indian prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru etc. “We are not asking for heavens but fulfilment of those pledges, Indians made to us and to the international community at United Nations Security Council, in Indian parliament and at Lal Chowk Kashmir,” asserted Malik.He said that Kashmiris for asking the fulfilment of these pledges are being killed, massacred, terrorized and oppressed by India.

Malik said that Indian people also fought for their independence from British for two hundred years. “The population of Indian subcontinent was many times higher than that of Kashmiris but today when Indian leaders talk of humanism and human lives we ask them to compare Indians fighting against British with Kashmiris striving against India and realize that despite being many a times large in population and size, the volume of atrocities by British in India as compared to those committed by Indians in Jammu Kashmir stand negligible,” he said.He said that giving sermons is easy but may we ask Sushma that how many Indian were killed by British during 200 years of Indian struggle and is that number anywhere near to killings in Kashmir by Indians.Malik said that today world may listen to Indian weird talk silently to safeguard its trade relations with much larger market of India but reality, truth and sacrifices of tiny nations like Jammu Kashmir cannot be overlooked and undermined by them forever.

He said that Kashmir belongs to the people of Jammu Kashmir who are yet to decide about their future. “It is not any nation’s integral part and no one can dream of lasting peace, prosperity, stability, and tranquility without resolving this long pending dispute,” he said.He said that Kashmiris have sacrificed their three generations for the resolution of this issue and this dispute has taken over our fourth generation also. “This dispute is even bleeding India and Pakistan and has strong potential of jeopardizing the stability of south Asia, therefore to avoid future catastrophe and misfortune, wisdom and humanism demands statesmen like approach by India and Pakistani leadership,” he said.

He said that the only way one can guarantee lasting peace, tranquility, prosperity and stability in India, Pakistan, Jammu Kashmir and whole south Asia is to address and resolve Jammu Kashmir issue according to the aspirations, demands, and sacrifices and active involvement of people of Jammu Kashmir.

Meanwhile the JKLF spokesman said that the party chief who has been put into a solitary confinement in extremely shabby conditions at Humhama has grown very weak and last week at Khyber hospital his medical tests came dangerously alarming.Today his personal doctor Sajad Reshi examined him and advised many medical checkups regarding his heart, kidney and other ailments. Yasin’s kidney stone has enlarged risking his kidney function severely. Medical tests regarding his heart ailment are also unsatisfactory and doctors at the hospital termed his overall health condition at high risk. He has been advised many medicines and also to follow up his medical tests after one week. After medical examinations he was again shifted to JIC Humhama cell. (KNS)
