Sex-ratio improved in Haryana : Maneka Sanjay Gandhi

Sharing her experience with the upcoming students of local Adarsh Mahila College, the Union Women and Child Development minister Maneka Sanjay Gandhi said she was much worried about selection of her career just after completing her graduation. During showers of much suggestions when I thought about the field of enviornment, it gave me inheart energy and I decided to choose it.Then I toured entire country and talked to rivers, trees, mountains and studied closely to nature. I saw animals being treated as food items and witnessed their state in cages also. The nature has given birth to animals like human beings and thus they too have a right to live under open nature, said Maneka Sanjay Gandhi.She said the government had implemented several scheme for overall development of women and children and positive results of these have started to come.Maneka Sanjay Gandhi was in Bhiwani Tuesday to attend 17th annual convocation and prize distribution function of local Adarsh Mahila Mahavidyalya. She honoured savvy students who brought laurel in fields of education, cultural and sports. 

During function over 849 students were given away degrees. Bhiwani-Mahendergarh Lok Sabha MP Dharmbir Singh, Adarsh Siksha Samiti president Ajay Gupta, Jeewan Vigyan Yog Trust president Shiv Ratan Gupta, Adarsh college chairperson Darshna Gupta, secretary Ashok Buwaniwala and principal Dr. Aruna Acharya were also present.Maneka Gandhi said the central government, keeping in mind the state of screwd sex in Haryana, launched ‘Beti bachao-beti padhao’ campaign. The sex ratio in Haryana was much deplorable as 830. Cases of honour killing were increasing due to customs. The youths of this state had to run to other states for marriage. To improve this ratio, doctors, teachers, NGOs were linked with this campaign. Now there is improvement in sex ratio in state as 910 girls against one thousand boys.Addressing the students, MP Dharmbir Singh stressed upon qualitative education which provide employment to new generation. He also said the government should prepare a policy which help students to earn a good career. He announced to give Rs. 11 lakh to the college to buy a bus to ferry students from nearby villages.College secretary Ashok Buwaniwala while thanking the guest assured of improving system.
