GJIMT NSS students organized awareness comp on women improvement at Ballo Majra

The NSS Students Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology,  phase 2 Mohali   organized the awareness camp at  village Ballo Majra. The theme of this special one day camp was Social & Economic awareness among women. About one hundred NSS volunteers participated in the camp under supervision of its programme officers. During this camp, volunteers not only created awareness among  the people of village about small scale business but also gave them information about  social and economical  issues.Addressing a gathering and NSS volunteers, Campus Director Aneet Bedi gave a motivating speech on “Not me but you” and also threw light on “Economic and Social awareness among women”.  She Stressed upon the role of women in modern society, she said that women can not only take care of family affairs but also economic affairs. In a developing country like India where financial resources are always under pressure, women can help their families by engaging themselves in  self-employment crafts like embroidery, knitting ,painting , dairy farming and many other small scale business.

She urged people to curb the evil of female foeticide. She said that now it is the time to bring change in our minds about girl child, now girls are ahead of boys in every field .She referred to the latest Rio Olympics and the achievement of the girl participants and the honor brought by them to India and specially all the women of India .She further added that an educated girl can handle every hurdle of her life in good manner either it is in family, job or business.On this occasion, school Bags, stationery and lunch boxes were given to the primary school students by the NSS Volunteers. Volunteers presented cultural programme also on the stage.
