Ajaz Jan expresses anguish over dilapidated utility services; governance deficit

Says each segment of society in state suffering

Expressing serious concern over governance deficit and administrative inertia, Youth National Conference Provincial President Jammu Ajaz Jan on Saturday said that each segment of society in the state has been suffering.Interaction with several delegations at Mandi in the border district of Poonch, Jan as per the statement issued to KNS said while the utility services are in highly miserable condition, with road network completely dilapidated and power and drinking water supply quite erratic, the PDP-BJP government seems to be nowhere on ground.Jan referred to the bad condition of Mandi Loran, Mandi to Sawijan, Mandi to Saloonia, Poonch to Khari Karmara, Jhulas to Salotri roads, he said no attention is being given towards their improvement and upkeep as a result of which vehicular movement has become very risky. He said the Khanater and Bandichachi to Qasba are also in very bad condition. 

Responding to the demands of auto operators, covered under a scheme to benefit unemployed, Jan regretted that subsidies have not been released so far.He said that since the operators have suffered hugely due to closure of various roads, the government should immediately announce loan waiver and rescheduling of installments.Jan said that due to unrest in Kashmir, there has been very little movement of various modes of transport on the Moughal Road, as a result of which the operators have almost been rendered jobless. “Their condition is pathetic and the government should consider measures to provide them some sort of sustenance”, he added.The Provincial YNC President said the PDP-BJP government has failed on all fronts, as a result of which the people from all walks of life have been suffering adversely.Jan urged the people to remain cautious against the machinations of the politicians with vested interest, especially after the failure of government in deliverance, and maintain age old amity and harmony.
